Commission & Payout Schedule

Rachel’s Palette retains a commission on the sale price of every completed transaction. Commission is tiered so high-value originals carry a lower rate and low-ticket prints a higher one:

• Base commission range: 25–35% of the sale price.
• Default rate: 30%, applied unless a different tier or negotiated rate is set for your account.
• Lower end of the range (towards 25%) applies to higher-value original works.
• Higher end of the range (towards 35%) applies to lower-ticket prints and editions.
• Your effective rate is shown in your seller dashboard before you list, and any change to it is notified in advance.

The commission is the primary fee. In addition, the following may be deducted from the gross sale before payout:

• Payment processing fees charged by our processor on the transaction.
• Cross-border payout or currency-conversion fees where they apply to your payout.
• Refund or chargeback handling costs attributable to the transaction (see below).

We do not charge listing fees, setup fees, or monthly retainers to sell. Optional paid features, if offered in future, will be priced separately and clearly.

To support buyer protection and discourage off-platform leakage, funds are held after a sale and released to the seller on confirmation of delivery:

• On checkout we collect the full purchase price from the buyer and place it in a managed fund hold.
• The seller's payout (sale price less commission and applicable fees) is released once delivery is confirmed — typically on signature on delivery for originals (see the Shipping Policy).
• If a dispute is opened during the buyer-protection window, the relevant funds remain held until the dispute is resolved.
• Payouts are made to the seller's verified payout account after release, on the processor's standard payout cycle.

• Where a refund is due under the Returns & Refunds Policy or an upheld dispute, the seller's payout is reduced accordingly; if funds have already been released, the seller is responsible for repaying them.
• Commission is reversed in proportion to any refund of the sale price.
• The seller is responsible for chargebacks attributable to the order, including any processor chargeback fees, except where the chargeback results from our error.
• We may withhold or offset amounts from current or future payouts to cover refunds, chargebacks, or fees owed.

• Prices are displayed to buyers in the currency selected at checkout; multi-currency display and settlement are supported by our processor.
• Where the buyer pays in a currency different from the seller's payout currency, conversion is applied at the processor's prevailing rate, and any conversion fee is disclosed and deducted before payout.
• Sellers are responsible for their own local tax and reporting obligations on amounts received; we provide records and, where required, file applicable marketplace facilitator and tax reports.

We may revise this schedule. Material changes to commission rates or payout terms will be notified in advance and will not apply retroactively to sales already completed. The binding rate for any sale is the one in effect when the listing was published or as otherwise agreed in your account.
